Hi All,

today I have used the software XLRF5 to try to check the flight characteristics of Bocian with the profile MS retro 13%.




The wing incidence that I have chosen is of 2°.

In the two followings images it is possible to understand the with the CG placed at 67mm the model will fly at a speed of 12.5m/s that is 45 km/h. With the wing incidence of 2° the moment coefficient is zero.








In the enclosed diagram the max. glide ratio is about 28 at speed of 12.5m/s

Hi All,

today I have conclude the structure of fin where the horizontal tail is fixed. The fin is made by a a shaped balsa block I have some doubt if is better to make some hole in order to reduce the weight on rear part of fuselage.

Hi Roberto. Beautifull work!!!
Is not a bad idea to reduce some weight in the tail. You could open some holes in the fin and the structure below the elevator, and refill the holes with foam, in order to mantaing the shape of the structure at the moment of cover it.

Hi All again,

after the wings, I started with the cockpit, following the construction method indicated by Vincent for the Musger.
Now I start with the frames construction considering that the cockpit is composed of three parts: the fixed ahead part, the central part hinged and the rear sliding part.
